Stamping With Friends May Blog Hop Pocket Card

It's time to hop along with the Stamping With Friends May Blog Hop and this month we are showcasing Pocket Cards. Our wonderful Design Team will be showcasing their projects and ideas to help inspire you to step outside your comfort zone and try this fun card style to create your own beautiful designs. 
For my Pocket Card design, I chose to use the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper to create a beautiful Mother's Day card. I paired it with the sentiment from the Stippled Roses stamp set and heat embossed the image with Gold embossing powder to give it a touch of elegance. This style of Pocket Card was inspired by a similar card created by fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Karen Titus. Instead of leaving the sides open, I chose to adhere them shut using Tear & Tape Adhesive. This style of card is great for adding a gift card inside for a special occasion. It is simple to create and so much fun to decorate.

I was so happy when Stampin' Up! decided to carry over the beautiful Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper and I thought it would be perfect for this card design. I wanted to keep the design clean and simple with a touch of elegance. The coordinating patterns made it easy to mix and match to create the contrast with the front panel, the flap and the insert so that everything tied together. I added some foliage die cut with the Painted Lavender Dies and a touch of bling with the Brushed Brass Butterflies. The Natural Polka Dot Ribbon adds some wonderful texture to the design without being too bulky. For the pull top on the insert, I attached the small Gorgeous Grape circles on either side of the insert to make it easy to move the layer in and out of the pocket.

Global Stamping Friends May Blog Hop Fresh & New

 
Welcome to the Global Stamping Friends May Blog Hop and this month we are celebrating the new 2024-2025 Annual Catalog with the theme of "Fresh & New". One of my favorite things about a new catalog is getting to explore all the wonderful new products hidden inside. Our wonderful Design Team will be sharing their projects and ideas to help spark your creativity and get you excited about this amazing new catalog. 
It's no secret that I love to create clean and simple card designs for all occasions. One of my favorite ways to do this is with designer series paper and the new Thoughtful Journey 6"x6" Designer Series Paper is perfect for this style of card. This paper pack is full of beautiful designs that have the look of watercolor landscape scenes that make the most beautiful cards. For today's card, I paired one of these designs with the new Simply Said stamp set which has wonderful sentiments to suit a variety of occasions. With this combination, it is easy to create a variety of card designs to help you stock up your card stash for upcoming events.

For this card design, I chose to use Thick Basic White cardstock for the card base to help make the designer series paper card front pop. I love this beautiful color combination of blues and pinks that reminds me of a misty morning in the mountains. For the sentiment, I used a 1/2" strip of Basic White cardstock to stamp the image with Misty Moonlight Classic ink and then trimmed it down to approx. 3 1/4". I attached the sentiment to the bottom right corner of the card front to complete the clean and simple design. To step up the design, I added two of the Fresh Freesia Tinsel Gems for a touch of bling. I love how peaceful this card design looks and it would work well for so many occasions.

Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge Week 18 - Coastal Cabana

Welcome to Week 18 of the Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge as we showcase Coastal Cabana from the Brights Collection. This beautiful color makes me think of tropical oceans but for my card design today, I thought I would go in a different direction.
 For my card, I chose to use the Simply Zinnia stamp set paired with the coordinating Zinnia 3D Embossing Folder to create a design with wonderful background texture. I also chose to use one of the Paper Butterfly Accents for the focal image and added Gold embossing for a distressed, almost vintage look. This was outside my comfort zone as I am not a big flowers person but I think the end result turned out pretty well. What do you think?

Creating this card design was a bit of a challenge because I don't have any current Coastal Cabana designer series paper to work with, so I had to figure out a different way to add texture and detail. So for my background design, I chose to ink up the inside of the Zinnia 3D Embossing Folder with Coastal Cabana Classic ink and then placed a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock inside and embossed it to get this wonderful tone on tone textured design. To add some contrast, I die cut a Basic White circle with the Deckled Circles dies and then stamped one of the Zinnia images with Coastal Cabana Classic ink, stamping it off once, to create a soft floral design. To help make the butterfly die cut stand out, I added some Versamark ink to the outside edges of the die cut and then added Gold embossing powder and heat embossed it to give it a wonderful distressed look. I then added some Coastal Cabana Classic ink to the rest of the butterfly with a Blending Brush and gently colored it with Clear Wink of Stella to give it a pretty shimmer. The sentiment was heat embossed with Gold embossing powder onto the Basic White banner and then layered onto the Coastal Cabana banner, slightly offsetting it. To finish off the card, I added several Gold Sequins for a touch of bling. I love the way all the layers come together to create this beautiful design with Coastal Cabana.

We Create May Blog Hop Mother May I?

Welcome to the We Create May Blog Hop with our theme this month, "Mother May I?" With Mother's Day coming up soon, our Design Team will be sharing projects and ideas to help inspire you to create your own beautiful projects for this special occasion and beyond.
For my card design, I wanted to create a card that was not your traditional Mother's Day card. We have so many women in our lives that are mothers but not necessarily our own mother. Wouldn't it be great to recognize them with their own special card and show them the love in our hearts for all they do. Maybe it's a daughter or daughter-in-law, a sister, a close friend or someone else that you feel deserves to be celebrated. So for my card design, I chose one of the images from the new Hearts & Hugs Bundle from the new 2024-2025 Annual Catalog, which launched today. I paired it with two of the brand new 2024-2026 In Colors to show how these beautiful colors can help you create a sweet and heartwarming card design. For this design, I chose Petunia Pop as my main color and Pretty In Pink as my accent color. I also chose Gray Granite to color the badgers and I think it adds a wonderful contrast to the bright colors.

The new 2024-2026 In Colors are simply gorgeous and I had a hard time deciding which color combination to go with for this card design. In the end, I thought the combination of Petunia Pop and Pretty In Pink worked best for this occasion but I do encourage you to explore combining some of the other colors to come up with your own comibnations. I really liked the striped Petunia Pop design for my background and how it makes the focal design pop. I chose to use the hugging badgers image from the Hearts & Hugs stamp set because it made me think of a mother hugging her child. I colored the badgers with the Gray Granite Stampin' Blends Markers and used the Light Pretty In Pink Stampin' Blends Marker for their noses. I die cut them out using the coordinating Hearts & Hugs Dies. I used the largest circle from the Everyday Details Dies to create the focal background and I stamped the triple hearts image several times towards the top using Pretty In Pink Classic ink and then colored them in with the Light Pretty In Pink Stampin' Blends Marker. I added the badgers to the circle using Stampin' Dimensionals, placing them towards the bottom of the circle to allow the stamped hearts to show above them. I added a piece of Pretty In Pink Bordered Ribbon around the center of the Petunia Pop Designer Series Paper layer, attaching the ends to the back. I added this layer to the card base and then added the circle over the ribbon with Stampin' Dimensionals, centering the circle on the card front. For the sentiment, I stamped the image onto the Pretty In Pink sentiment label I die cut with the Everyday Details Dies. I attached the sentiment label to the bottom right side of the card front so that it slightly overlapped the focal circle, underneath the badger's feet. To embellish the card design, I added several small hearts die cut with the Hearts & Hugs Dies to the top right and bottom left corners of the card front. I also added two of the Petunia Pop Shimmer Gems to the corners of the sentiment label for a touch of bling. I think this card design would be perfect not only as a sweet Mother's Day card from the heart but for so many other occasions. Who wouldn't love to receive this adorable card?

Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge Week 17 - Granny Apple Green

It's Week 17 of the Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Challenge and this week we are showcasing the beautiful Granny Apple Green from the Brights Collection. I love this fresh, pretty green and I am excited to share with you the card design I came up with to show the versatility of this wonderful color.
For this week's card design, I wanted to create an organic design using the retiring Vellum Basics Specialty Designer Series Paper for my background. I just love this soft tone on tone pattern that helps to add texture to the card design without being overwhelming. I also chose to use one of my favorite bundles from the January-April 2024 Mini Catalog, Notes of Nature, which sadly is also retiring. I chose to add some Gold embossing to add a classic elegance to the card and the Gold Sequins add the perfect finishing touch.

I love the texture and detail in this pretty card design. The leaf design in the layer of vellum adds wonderful texture to the background of the design. I die cut the left side of the vellum layer using one of the Notes of Nature Dies to give the look of a notebook page. To help make the leaf pattern pop, I used a blending brush to add Granny Apple Green Classic ink to the reverse side of the vellum to add a layer of soft color which helps bring out the detail when I layered it on top of the Granny Apple Green card base. For the focal image, I die cut a medium circle from Basic White cardstock using the Stylish Shapes Dies. I heat embossed the detailed lines image from the Notes of Nature stamp set using Gold embossing powder and then stamped the dottage background image using Granny Apple Green Classic ink onto the background, stamping off once each time, to add some soft texture. Using a blending brush, I gently added some Granny Apple Green Classic ink to the die cut circle to add a soft layer of color. I stamped and die cut two of the leaves images and colored them with Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends Markers to bring them to life. I also die cut several detailed leaf sprigs to add behind the circle to add texture and details against the vellum background. For the sentiment, I heat embossed the image onto a Basic White banner I die cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies. To finish off the card design, I added several Gold Sequins to coordinate with the Gold embossing.
